Archipelago - Archipelago Amsterdam
About us

Welcome

Welcome to Archipelago Amsterdam!

Archipelago means cluster of islands used to describe the little islands on the Aegean Sea between Greece and Turkey as well as all the little islands off the shore of Stockholm and thus represent us a Swedish-Italian-Turkish-Dutch couple based in Amsterdam. And this is the story of our name.

Archipelago Amsterdam as a shop is a cluster of ideas combining French - Swedish antiques, post war vintage furniture such as Maison Jansen, Romeo Rega and the whole Hollywood Regency Style.  Archipelago is also specialised curious interior design accessories, up and coming interior designers such as Young and Battaglia from the United Kingdom, Hervé Gambs scented candles from France, and high end oriental fragrances and bath oils from Turkey.  Rachel van der Brug/RHO Interiors works out of our shop to provide our clients overall interior decoration advice and solutions.  Rachel van der Brug is the Dutch importer of the famous textile brand Fortuny, Fortuny interior design accessories, and Chiarastella Cattana fabrics.

To make antiques and high end interior decoration brands more accessible we have created the most handsome Barista in the middle of our store.  In our Barista, we offer Sant’Eustachio coffee from Rome using our very Italian La Pavoni double lever coffee machine, and Mariage Frères tea from Paris both of which are unique to the Netherlands.   Our Roman coffee and Parisian tea is offered with home baked sweet and savory tarts.  So anyone could come and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea in this historical and artistic surrounding.  In Archipelago, we are selling Sant’ Eustachio coffee and Mariage Frères tea as well as their merchandise.

Archipelago Amsterdam is a unique ART Gallery exhibiting works of international artists from around the world. We opened our doors with Roberto Fanari’s ‘Nella Mia Foresta’ Bronze, Ceramic, and 3D Lightbox exhibition, which will be with us until 2 May.  We will continue with interesting exhibitions of talented artists throughout the year.

We will also organize ABC (Archipelago Book Club), Fashion shows and shoots, pop-up dinners, cultural workshops in different topics, as well as corporate events on our 150sq.m shop floor.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Archipelago Amsterdam.
